Weddings at Oulton Hall: This is a long overdue post of a wedding I photographed a few weeks back at Oulton Hall in Yorkshire. As a LONDON WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER I quite enjoy my little excursions around the country. In fact this was not the first time I had photographed a wedding in Yorkshire. Those who follow my blog will know that last summer I was invited to shoot the wedding at NOSTELL PRIORY IN WAKEFIELD for lovely Lisa and Geoff.
Let’s come back to our wedding at De Vera Oulton Hall venue. This is truly an amazing venue and suffice it to say, Joanne and Jonathan, had a time of their lives hosting their wedding at this 5 star grand hotel in Yorkshire. If I may just describe the venue for the couples who are considering it as a backdrop for their wedding. Do not hesitate a moment! Beautiful 18th century architecture surrounded by masterfully landscaped gardens are great selling points of this venue. Oulton Hall boasts beautiful and spacious function rooms which will cater to anybody’s taste. If you are looking for something big with class this is it. You search is over.
My day started at the venue early in the morning. It was a beautiful Friday morning and I could still see dew on the grass as I was driving through the gates. The sun was peeking through the branches which was a good sign indeed after having a solid two week spell of heavy rain. I met Jonathan in his room. After a quick chat over a cup of tea he and his helpers for the day, Lewis and Malcolm, started getting ready. In the meantime, Paul Alexander was with Joanna documenting her’ getting ready’. Once the boys got themselves suited and booted we headed for downstairs where all the guests waited for the Bride to arrive.
The civil ceremony took place in a beautifully decorated room filled with light and excited guests waiting for the Bride and Groom to tie the knot. And so they did. Later Paul and me ventured out of the venue into the fresh air for group and creative shots. Joanne was one brave lady! She fought the chilly wind off and we spent more than I had thought we would have outside taking pictures. Paul and me had great fun and we were pretty lucky to photograph a wedding of such a great couple.
That is enough from me now. Enjoy a story of Joanna and Jonathan.
